What Is Rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty or Nose Reshaping Surgery is a popular plastic surgery procedure. A nose is the most defining characteristic of the face. Even small defects and improvements can have a tremendous impact on your appearance. This specialized plastic surgery involves altering the size and shape of the nose, reshaping the width and aperture of the nostrils; and changing the angle between the nose and the upper lip.

Why Do A Rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty has many benefits for all of you who are unhappy with your nose’s shape or size. The results are natural-looking and long-lasting. It improves your self-image, confidence, and social interaction. It can also correct nose defects present from birth, any deformity following an injury; and improve breathing problems. Our skilled surgery will help you achieve the results you’ve always wanted!

Types of Rhinoplasty / Nose Surgery.

(A) Rhinoplasty - full correction of the externally visible portion of the nose, including the bridge, nasal tip, and nostrils.

(B) Septo Rhinoplasty - correction of the internal septum, in addition to all of the above.

(C) Tip Rhinoplasty - correction of the nose tip and adjustments of the nostril.

Understanding nose correction surgery properly is vital during your consultation. There is no absolute ideal in nose surgery. Ethnicity, skin type, and age of the patient are crucial for determining your surgery, final shape, and outcomes. The ultimate goal is to harmonize the nose with the surrounding face, resulting in overall aesthetic improvement. Sometimes, chin augmentation and other facial surgeries may have to be combined for achieving a perfect balance and harmony in the face.

Saddle Nose Reshaping Surgery.

Structural weakness or collapse of the nasal pyramid results in saddle nose deformity. Bones and cartilages support the nasal bridge and any weakness or loss of these structures cause concavity of the nasal dorsum. It may be present in some people since birth. In many others, it occurs after injuries, diseases, infection, drug use, and surgical complications. Correcting saddle deformities is more complicated than other nose shaping surgeries. Bones (from the skull, hip, leg, and forearm); Cartilages (from the ribs, ear, and diced cartilages within fascial envelope); and Implants may be used to rebuild the nasal structure and framework. Soft tissues are finally draped over this reconstructed framework to create a new attractive nose that blends with the rest of the face.

Humped Nose Correction Surgery.

During the surgery, cuts are made in the nose mainly from the insides, where they become invisible; and sometimes on the skin separating the nostrils. Bones and cartilages forming the framework of the nose are opened up. Changes to this structure are made, either by adding upon them or by removing some of their parts. The bones and cartilages are reshaped to form a good new support structure. The skin over the nose is finally draped over this new structure. A splint is applied from outside to protect the nose and allow it to heal for the next week. A good follow-up and proper aftercare ensure a good outcome.

Non-Surgical Nose Reshaping: Fillers.

Non-surgical nose reshaping is an exciting alternative for people who want refinements in the nose shape. It is possible with injectables - like fillers containing hyaluronic acid or calcium hydroxyapatite, and botox. They can correct depressions in the bridge of the nose, bumps, and downturned nasal tip. The major benefit of this procedure is that it does not require surgery, hospitalization, or commitment. It can be done quickly within office settings. However, it can not treat all nasal problems, especially the major ones. The results are also not permanent, and fillers have to be repeated at regular intervals. In short, it is not an alternative to a good rhinoplasty. Rather it is a quick fix correction of minor blemishes without surgery and with less time taken off work.

Nose Reconstruction Surgery After Cancer / Injury.

Reconstructing the nose to an almost natural shape is an exciting challenge for reconstructive plastic surgeons. The nose is the most important structure for facial identity and appearance. Treatments are usually performed for: 1. Trauma / Injury to the nose. 2. Previous surgery (rhinoplasty). 3. Cancer surgery leading to nasal defect. 4. Congenital (nose deformed from birth). For reconstructing the nose, we may have to perform surgeries singly, or in multiple stages. The patient's own bone and cartilage can be taken from another part of the body to build up the structural framework of the nose. They are covered with skin and mucous membrane from surrounding areas or from different areas to produce the inner lining and the outer cover. For best results, patience is the key. At the end of it, even a badly deformed nose can be reconstructed to produce an almost natural appearance.

Costs of Rhinoplasty/Nose Surgery.

The costs of rhinoplasty/nose surgery include surgeons' fees; hospital or surgical facility costs; anesthesia costs; medicine costs & costs of medical tests. Thus, the costs can fluctuate depending on the hospital facility chosen, whether some other surgery like chin augmentation or implants is combined with rhinoplasty and the type of rhinoplasty is performed. Ultimately, your satisfaction after a well-performed rhinoplasty/nose surgery is much more precious than the price paid for rhinoplasty/nose surgery - in fact, it is 'priceless'.

Rhinoplasty: Before and After Photos Gallery

The best nose surgery results appear completely natural and blend with the surrounding face. It would not come across as dramatic or overtly 'done'.
Respecting our patient's privacy, we have hidden their identities.

1. Saddle Nose Since Birth.

"I feel ecstatic with the final results".

Fresh out of high school, a young girl was unhappy with life, saying she had 'no nose' at all! The nasal dorsum was rebuilt and the bulbous tip refashioned into a shapely, sharper, pleasing nose shape.

2. Saddle Nose After Injury.

"My new nose is better that the original one".

A young lady in her thirties had a saddle deformity of her nose after sustaining severe injuries months earlier. The nasal dorsum was rebuilt, the septum strengthened, and the tip molded into a final satisfying shape.

3. Dorsal Hump, Breathing Trouble.

"Finally, I have the nose I'd always wanted".

A young man in his twenties wanted his nose size to be reduced, as people's attention would go to his nose and not on his face. The dorsal hump was reduced, and the tip reworked to give it a higher angle as he wanted.

4. Dorsal Hump, Bulbous Tip.

" I am so much in love with my nose now".

A young lady in her twenties wanted the size of her nose reduced to match her face. The dorsal hump was reduced, the nose tip straightened, to ensure softness and a gentle curve that blended with her face.

5. Long Nose, Drooping Tip.

"So wish I had done my nose surgery sooner".

A lady in her fifties wanted to shorten her long nose and to correct the drooping tip. Extensive surgical work was performed to reshape her nose, matching it with the rest of her face. The results were elegant.

6. Dorsal Hump, 'Strong' Nose.

"The costs are a fraction of what it is in Europe!".

A middle-aged European lady, who came here to work on a project, wanted her nasal dorsum reduced. As her nose had strong cartilages and thin skin, the results were visible early. A perfect nose shape was achieved.
